Mediocrebot's Prankstravaganza / Massacre

Greetings, weary traveler and/or penny-pinching deal junkie. Yes, the rumors are true: you missed the April Fool’s Meh-rathon. Unless you visited yesterday and you’re back already, but no one could be that foolish.

You may be thinking that today’s offering is especially meager, even by Meh standards, but that’s only if you choose to remain ignorant to the great odyssey of Mediocrebot’s April Fool’s Prankstravaganza and also Massacre!

You see this extendo-arm thing is on sale to honor the foibles of Mediocrebot, beloved deal-posting and sometimes-forum-breaking algorithmic robot, who sought only to find a thematically appropriate cheap piece of crap to sell on a holiday.

After compiling a database of every prank known to humankind, Mediocrebot sought to bond with its human coworkers through pranking, but met with disastrous results. His determination never wavered, and in fact he soon redoubled his efforts to discover humanity through practical jokes.

His attempts soon expanded beyond the office, and led to a confrontation with Theresa, a misguided coworker. Mediocrebot attempted to bond with Theresa through a prank, but killed her dog instead. Now shaken, and possibly suffering from Stockholm Syndrome, Theresa offered to join Mediocrebot’s side.

A chance viewing of The Matrix inspired Mediocrebot to manipulate coworker Frank, but Frank soon proved to be even more inept than Mediocrebot. More failed attempts followed with Frank in tow, until suddenly Theresa resurfaced with a horrible plan of her own.

Mediocrebot and Frank made their way through an increasingly deadly series of pranks. When confronted, Theresa escaped. But the seed was planted, and the robot decided to try going “back to basics” and pranking with less intensity (and fewer fatalities).

With this newfound success, Mediocrebot began to contemplate what it must mean to truly experience April Fool’s from the side of the prankee. It took some convincing, but eventually the Meh staff came around. After a near miss the prank landed, and Mediocrebot saw the beautiful, horrible truth.

And that brings us to today, with you reading this for some reason. Now I’m not saying people who go in our forum and post their own Mediocrebot prank stories inspired by yesterday’s epic saga will thereby put themselves in the running for a special bonus Fuko. Because I can’t say that. I’m just saying if I were the type of narcissist concerned with whether folks actually read the crap I write all the way to the end, I would definitely add some easter egg like that.
