CRKT Tighe Rod Knife

  • The fanciest and best knife we’ve ever sold, if you’re into that kind of thing
  • AUS 8 steel blade is 3.57" long, so you can call it your “3.57 Magnum”
  • Skeletonized handle with blue highlights designed by knife artiste Brian Tighe, who is from Canada and has cultivated a robust beard
  • Locking mechanism designed by knife-lock artiste Glenn Klecker, who led a Marine detachment during Desert Storm so we’ll be careful what we say about him
  • Knife rotating mechanism described as “buttery smooth”, so you won’t have butter it yourself like all your lesser knives
  • Model: 5265 (not to be confused with gene #5265, SERPINA1, defects in which can cause emphysema or liver disease - thanks, Google!)

We have nothing to add here.

We’re in new territory today. We’re pretty sure this is the nicest knife we’ve ever sold. Our ambivalence about turning into a knife store is no secret, so we haven’t exactly been staying up late perfecting our sales techniques for knife connoisseurs. Fortunately, some other people have figured that out far better than we ever will, so we’ll just steal their work.

On the official product page, CRKT themselves can tell you all about how the “attractively skeletonized” handle and “buttery smooth” blade rotation make this one of Brian Tighe’s greatest creations. Oh, you don’t know Brian Tighe? Check out CRKT’s Brian Tighe page. Don’t forget the special locking mechanism designed by Glenn Klecker. CRKT has a Glenn Klecker page, too. You’re never going to find that much Brian Tighe and Glenn Klecker information on our site.

If you like deep background on your knives, buy this knife from CRKT for $175.

Another way to go is this video by knife retailer Oso Grande. It’s so good, we’re just going to embed it right here:

If you like to see your knives on video before you buy them, buy this knife from Oso Grande for $89.99.

Then there’s Amazon. There always is. As usual, the best info on their page comes in the form of customer reviews. Beyond that, they also offer Prime shipping and relatively easy returns.

If you like customer reviews and customer service, buy this knife from Amazon for around 80 bucks.

That just leaves us. And our cribbing of everybody else’s sales pitches. And our much, much lower price. No, we haven’t added anything to the story of this knife. But we did subtract quite a few dollars.

If you like the savings you can only get from a store that lets other people do the work of selling, buy this knife from Meh for $39.
