Catching Up

For some years, the AAA batteries in my Roku remote have been dead. And so, for years, I have been living a lie, feigning knowledge of streamable content I know nothing about.

“Have you seen Bird Box?” someone might ask. “Yes,” I would reply. “It’s just terrible what happened to that poor bird!”

“How about Russian Doll?” they’d ask. “So many rich layers!” I would reply.

“The Haunting of Hill House?” “A very interesting turn for the King Of The Hill franchise!”

“Those documentaries? About Fyre?” “They left me feeling warm inside!”

“Stranger Things?” “More like ‘The Strangest Things,’ am I right?”

“Catastrophe?” “A dizzying portrayal of a natural disaster!”

“Game Of Thrones?” “Of course! I always enjoy sports!”

“Big Little Lies?” “It completely reshaped my understanding of lie-size!”

“Maniac?” “Absolutely crazy!”

“American Vandal?” “It’s wonderful to see Banksy’s influence is finally making its way across the pond!”

“Forever?” “I wished it would never end!”

“The Good Place?” “That’s the one that takes place in Georgia, right?”

“No, you might be confusing The Good Place with Atlanta.” “It’s not my fault you can’t see the city’s potential!”

And so it goes and goes. But no more! Thanks to this sale, I shall soon be so rich with batteries for my Roku remote that I might never run out! I cannot wait to catch up on all the great shows and movies I’ve missed, but I will start with what I am certain is the finest there is: Young Sheldon!
