Keep It Together
In my desk, there is a mess of cables. They’ve made it with me through perhaps six moves. They are all black and they all look exactly the same. Some actually are the same. The cable to charge my bluetooth earbuds, for example, can also charge my bike light somehow and vice versa. But then there are others that are just a little different. One might be from an ereader, another might be from a defunct exercise watch, another still might be for a digital camera that has not taken a single photo since a time known as B.C. (before cameraphones).
I say this all to stress a very simple fact: a power bank that you can plug right the fuck into the wall with charging cords built right the fuck into it is nothing to take for granted. Because it means you don’t have to play cord-roulette every time you take it anywhere or find-the-charger every time it runs out of juice.
And I know what you’re going to say. “All you have to do is keep your various charging cords orderly and none of this is a problem.” To which I would reply, “Well, congratulations on your neat and orderly life, Inspector 34,” to which you would reply, “Is that a Pete & Pete reference? I love that show,” to which I would reply, “It is truly one of the great under appreciated television programs of all time, but we’re getting away from the point, which is that it’s just easier not to have multiple parts to keep track of.”
And I should add, there are additional USB plug-ins, so if you really get off on having to carry separate charging cables, you still can. Furthermore, if you have, say, an iPhone, you’ll be able to charge it, via those aforementioned USB ports.
And now, I’ve completely lost track of where this was going. Just like you might completely lose track of your cords if they’re not built into your power bank!
